Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh shared a deeply personal testimony about her past and spiritual journey at a gospel event in Tanzania.
Addressing worshippers, the actress recounted a period in her life marked by confusion and a search for direction, during which she admitted making decisions she now regrets.
“At the midst of trying to navigate life, I’ve dipped my hands in so much filth and dirt, I’ve joined a cult, I’ve worked with a demon so hard,” she said.
She added that she has since found clarity and no longer identifies with that phase of her life. “I know who he is, and I know that he doesn’t have anything for me anymore,” she stated.
According to her, a major turning point came when she felt a divine call to return to God. “Today God said… I’ll take you back and clean you up. I’ll put you on altars to preach my gospel,” she told the audience, drawing applause from attendees.
On her Instagram page, Dikeh further explained that what she described as her first divine assignment was to “clean His house.”
She said she initially questioned the instruction, noting that she has staff responsible for maintaining her home, but later understood it as a spiritual exercise meant to cleanse her from within and prepare her for a new phase.
Earlier in March, the actress announced she had dropped the title “King” from her public identity after eight years, stating that the decision was made in obedience to the Holy Spirit. She also asked to be addressed as “Evangelist Tonto Dikeh.”
Her recent testimony aligns with a broader pattern of public reflections on her faith and personal growth.
Last month, she shared photos with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, and their son, signaling a moment of reconciliation after years of public disputes over their relationship and custody. Alongside the post, she emphasized her commitment to spiritual development and a renewed sense of purpose.
