Early life and education
Georgina Chloe Eku Edewor-Thorley (born December 18, 1986, 39 years old) at Portland Hospital in Marylebone, London, UK, to twin sister Kessiana Thorley.
She was brought up by her father, Hugh Thorley, of British nationality, whose profession was in food and beverage supply and logistics, and by her mother, Juliana Edewor, a Nigerian interior designer, restaurateur, and art collector, a native of Delta State (Urhobo).
When she was still a kid, her parents separated, and each remarried. Between the UK and Nigeria, she divided her time as a youngster, living in Lagos until age 13, where she attended primary school at St. Saviour’s School and Grange School.
She was then taken to boarding at Benenden School for Girls in the UK. For university studies, she attended the University of Warwick in England, where she studied English Literature and Theatre Studies, and received some training at the New York Film Academy. She is of mixed ethnicity, being British-Nigerian. She is a Christian by faith.
Career
Initially, Eku had a modelling career and appeared on Britain’s Next Top Model, but later she turned to acting and presenting. Her popularity soared when she became the host of the entertainment magazine show 53 Extra on Africa Magic (M-Net/DSTV), which allowed her to showcase music, film, and celebrity lifestyle features across Africa.
Among other movies, she has been part of the opening of Nollywood productions such as Christmas in Lagos, When Love Strikes, and Superstar.
