Johnny Depp’s band sued over cancelled concert

Disney Reportedly Offered Johnny Depp $20M for Jack Sparrow Return and He Refused It!

Rock supergroup Hollywood Vampires is facing legal action from a concert promoter following the cancellation of a scheduled performance in Europe.

The band, made up of Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, was named in a federal court filing in Texas over the scrapped July 2023 show.

According to TMZ, the concert was set to take place at the Olympic Fields in Slovakia, where the promoter is based.

Lawyers representing the band have since moved to have the case dismissed, arguing that there is no valid legal basis for the matter to be heard in Texas.

In the court filing, the promoter claimed he had paid the group $277,000 (£209,000) upfront for the performance and had requested a refund after the cancellation but received no response.

The band called off the show at the time, citing concerns about the venue’s condition and potential safety risks. They shared a statement via Instagram explaining the situation.

“Upon arrival today to the venue in Slovakia to begin set up for tonight’s performance, it quickly became clear that the construction of the facility was incomplete, and therefore unsafe for both the band and the general public,” it read.

“The band is very upset by this recent and unfortunate turn of events, and hope to return when schedules permit.”

Legal documents from the promoter also referenced a hospitalisation involving Johnny Depp around the same period, describing it as being due to “an unknown medical issue.”
