President of the Nigerian Film Corporation and veteran actor Ali Nuhu has shared rare insight into his marriage, addressing public curiosity, fame, and how he navigates intimate scenes in films.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the Nollywood star explained that mutual respect remains the foundation of his relationship.
“Most people keep asking my wife, ‘You’re married to a celebrity, an actor. A lot of ladies admire him; they love him, but we’ve not had scandals!’ Yes, that’s because I respect her, and I respect her feelings. She does the same for me,” he said.
Ali revealed that when it comes to roles involving romance or intimacy, he makes a conscious effort to involve his wife in the decision-making process.
According to him, he often shares scripts with her to review before accepting such roles, even when he has already read them himself.
“You know some of those scripts I did in Asaba and Lagos that required intimacy with my co stars. I intentionally give her the script and say, ‘Please help me read this because I’m very busy on set!’
“Even though I’ve already read it, she goes through it and points out certain parts, asking, ‘Are you comfortable with this? Can you do that?’ And I tell her, ‘Yes, I’m comfortable if you’re okay with it.’”
He said this approach helps build trust and ensures both partners remain comfortable despite the nature of his work in the film industry.
The actor also addressed a viral death rumour that circulated about him last year, describing the experience as shocking and unsettling.
“It was surreal. I was wondering if somebody is in a hurry for me to die,” he said.
At the time, the Nigerian Film Corporation dismissed the claim as false, urging the public to ignore the misinformation.
Ali Nuhu, who was appointed president of the corporation in 2024, continues to balance his leadership role with his acting career while maintaining a scandal free public image built on discipline and respect.
