A scheduled concert by Kanye West in Poland has been cancelled following mounting government pressure and public backlash over his recent controversial statements.
The rapper, also known as Ye, was set to perform at the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów on June 19, marking what would have been his first performance in the country in 15 years. However, the venue announced that the show would no longer go ahead, citing “formal and legal reasons.”
The decision follows strong criticism from Polish officials, including Culture and Heritage Minister Marta Cienkowska, who described the move to book the artist as “unacceptable.”
The cancellation adds to a growing list of disruptions to Kanye West’s planned appearances in Europe. In recent days, he postponed a concert in France, while the United Kingdom barred him from entering the country to headline the Wireless Festival.
The developments come amid continued criticism of the rapper over a series of antisemitic, racist, and pro-Nazi comments that have sparked widespread condemnation internationally.
With the Poland show now cancelled, uncertainty continues to surround Kanye West’s upcoming performances and his standing within the global music industry.
