Afrobeat singer and songwriter Burna Boy have joined the list of top personalities in the entertainment industry to speak out against the way Omah Lay and Tems are being treated in Uganda.
It would be recalled that Omah Lay and Tems who had gone to Uganda to perform
at a concert were arrested by the country police force as they are accused of floating the
Covid-19 pandemic guidelines.
With Omah Lay confirming the arrest and stating that things will be sorted out,
it came as a shock to Nigerians when the talented singer alongside Tems were arraigned in court.
To make the situation worse, both artists were handcuffed by the police and are being taken
back to their prison cell as a final resolution was not met on their case.
Burna Boy have now lead the charge against the treatment being received by Omah Lay and
Tems as he blast the Ugandan Government for treating the singers like a criminal.
Reacting to the ongoing drama, Burna Boy tweeted:
They should not be treated like this! @PoliceUg?! they were invited for a show organised by your citizens, granted visas, tickets were sold publicly on the WORLD WIDE WEB! this anarchy should not be targeted at the artists! #freetems #FreeOmahLay
