Kanye West spent over $12M of his money on 2020 failed presidential bid


American singer and rapper Kanye West reportedly spent over $12M of his own money to fund his failed presidential bid in 2020.

Kanye West was among the presidential candidate for the United States President which was won by Joe Biden who outclassed his closest opponent Donald Trump.

The multiple award-winning singer announced his 2020 United States presidential election campaign through Twitter on July 4, 2020, Independence Day, and on July 16, 2020, the campaign filed a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission.

The 21-time Grammy winner reportedly received around 57,000 votes across the 12 states in which he was in the running.




According to a new report from People, Kanye West spent a nice coin on his failed 2020 presidential attempt.

In a Federal Election Commission report, the rapper contributed $12.5 million of his own money and raised a little over $2 million from outside donors.

People also reports that in total West “raised $14.5 million to fund his late-in-the-cycle bid.”

With Kanye West currently going through a divorce drama with Kim Kardashian, it’s left to see of he will continue his aspirations for the upcoming election in 2024 which he has assured fans of a comeback.
