The African premiere of Black Panther took place in Lagos on Saturday, November 5th, and was warmly attended by celebrities.
Many celebrities made an effort to dress in fashions that reflected the film’s subject. Toyin Lawani, a Lagos-based stylist, created the majority of the costumes, particularly those of BBNaija alumnus.
All was well and good until it was spotted that Hermes, who represented the late, Chadwick Boseman had the wrong spelling of his name printed boldly behind his outfit.
Printed boldly behind the outfit was “R.I.P Chad Boswick”. Nigerians were not going to have that as most took to Twitter to slam the designer and Hermes himself. Reality tv star, Vee also bore her displease, as she tweeted; “Chad Boswick” has been killing me all daycrying emoji”
Jeffrey Uzor has called out popular fashion designer, Toyin Lawani aka Tiannah for misspelling the late Chadwick Boseman’s name.
For an event tagged #wakandaforever that was held in Lagos last night, Tiannah who designed former BBNaija star, Hermes outfit used the late Chadwick Boseman’s name on his attire but misspelled it.
Chadwick Aaron Boseman was an American actor. He died in 2020 after being diagnosed with colon cancer.
Toyin Lawani’s error made Jeffrey Uzor to call for her imprisonment. ‘Chad Boswick? pls Tiannah needs to be put behind bars”, he stated.
