Adamu Garba, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has joined his colleagues in criticizing former President Olusegun Obasanjo for endorsing the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.
Obasanjo, according to Garba, is envious of his principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is also the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate (APC).
“Envy is an enormous disease,” he wrote on Twitter. I have always respected and will continue to respect General Olusegun Obasanjo. However, at this point in his life, I advise him to grow out of his envy of Tinubu.
“Obasanjo is envious of Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s rise and shine; his loss (sic) in this one is certain.”
In the same vein, former aviation minister Femi Fani Kayode stated that nothing can prevent his principal, All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu, from becoming the country’s president this year because it is his time.
In response to Obasanjo’s endorsement of Peter Obi, Fani Kayode said the move is a waste of time.
“OBJ remains a father to us all, and I will always respect him,” he wrote. Nonetheless, I reserve the right to disagree with him as needed. His support for @PeterObi is not only inexplicable, but also pointless. Nothing can change the fact that it is @officialABAT’s time.”
Fani Kayode’s reaction comes just days after Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi in an open letter to young Nigerians.
“When one compares their character, antecedent, their understanding, knowledge, discipline, and vitality that they can bring to bear and the great efforts required to stay focused on the job, particularly looking at where the country is today and with the experience on the job that I personally had, Peter Obi as a mentee has an edge,” the former president wrote.
“Others, like all of us, have something to offer the new dispensation in terms of collective liberation, restoration, and salvaging of Nigeria.
“Another thing to remember about Peter is that he is a needle with thread attached to it from North and South, and he may not get lost.”
