Early Life

Toni Tones was (born July 20, 1985) in Lagos State. She is the youngest of a family of five. Her full name is Gbemisola Anthonia Adefuye. Toni Tones was born and raised in Lagos, but she hails from Odolewu, ijebu-Ode L. G. A. in Ogun State.

Her brother had been a musician with the band Oxygen and Tones and initially decided to be a show business photographer. Her portfolio caught the attention of D’banj’s reality show, Koko Mansion.

In 2017, Adefuye Gbemisola continued to do photographic work but was then both behind and in front of the camera.

Education

Her early education was in Lagos, where she completed her studies at Queen’s College.

She attended the University of Lancaster in the UK, where she studied marketing and economics. When the course was completed, she returned to Nigeria in 2009 to explore her interest in show business.

Photography

Toni Tones started her career as a photographer in 2009 upon her return to Nigeria from the UK. Before her return, she had undergone 3-months of photography classes while in the United Kingdom.

The Actress revealed that she developed a passion for photography during her last year at the university. She carved a niche for herself in the fashion and entertainment industry, photographing celebrities and models. Her works caught the attention of Nigerian hip-hop singer D’banj, and she became the photographer for his 2009 reality show ‘Koko Mansion’.

Working with D’banj that year earned her more recognition in the industry. As a photographer, Toni Tones has worked with top Nigerian magazines Like Genevieve, FAB, MADE, Sound City, and Vanguard’s Allure. She has also photographed celebrities like Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Wizkid, Omawunmi, Waje, and many others.

Music

Toni Tones tried her luck at singing in 2011. She released her official single in 2013, titled ‘I Know What You Like ‘, produced by Baby Fresh under Mavin Records. She also released another song titled ‘Hey Boy’ featuring Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan in 2015.

Nollywood

Toni Tones found more fame in acting than she did in music.

One of her earliest roles in acting was in the web TV series’ Gidi Culture. She has appeared in several films, including It was Her Day in 2016.

She also starred in King of Boys. as the younger Eniola Salami. The movie premiered on October 21, 2020. At the 2020 AMVCA, she earned herself a nomination for ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or TV Series’ for the movie ‘King Of Boys’.

In 2020 she was in the cast of Quam’s Money, a sequel to the 2018 film New Money. The follow-up story follows what happens when a security guard (Quam) suddenly becomes a multi-millionaire. Falz, Jemima Osunde, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Nse Ikpe-Etim, and Tones led the new cast.

In 2022, she also starred with Falz, Tobi Bakre, Zubby Michael, Basketmouth, and Sam Dede as (Officer Daniel) in the movie of the year, Brotherhood, which tells the story of Twin brothers, Wale (Falz) and Akin (Tobi Bakre) are orphaned when their parents are killed on New Year’s day on their way home from crossover church service.

After years of fighting to survive on the streets of Lagos, the brothers fall on opposite sides of the law with Wale joining the police force and Akin joining a notorious gang of robbers. The bonds of brotherhood are put to the ultimate test as Wale joins a Taskforce that hunts down Akin and his gang.
