NDA sends notice to Kaduna communities ahead of shooting practice

Ukrainian soldiers refuse a Russian army ultimatum to surrender their arms and will fight to the death in the city of Mariupol, which is surrounded by Russian troops

On Monday, the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) warned locals in Kaduna State’s Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka general areas not to become alarmed by gunshots heard nearby.

Maj. Victor Olukoya, the academy’s public relations officer, made this claim in a statement distributed to journalists in Kaduna on Monday.

The statement was titled: “Nigerian Defence Academy is scheduled to hold range exercise for cadets of Direct Short Service Course 27(Army) and 31(Air Force) from 19 – 22 June, 2023.’

According to Olukoya, the NDA would hold a range exercise at its open range in Afaka for Direct Short Service Course cadets from the 27th Army and 31st Air Force.

The exercise was slated to take place from June 19 to June 22, he stated.

“Consequently, inhabitants of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka general area are advised to steer clear of the range area and not to panic on hearing the sound of gunshots during the period of the exercise,” he said.
