While the 10th Nigerian Senate was screening former governor Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola, Olalere Oyewunmi, a Senator from Osun state, revealed Governor Ademola Adeleke’s reaction to his predecessor’s nomination.
“After former governor Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola was nominated as minister by the president,” the Osun Senator stated, “we, the three senators representing Osun state in this chamber, met with governor Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, and he told us to totally support Oyetola’s nomination as minister.”
On hearing this, the senate president said, “I think this is really something good for our nation’s politics. When opposition members don’t see themselves as oppositions but after the interest of the country.”
In addition, senator Godswill Obot Akpabio said, “I can see that Adegboyega Isiaka Oyetola is not here alone. He came with some members of our party. This really shows his people are behind him.”
