Afrobeats sensation Wizkid has addressed concerns from his devoted fans about his recent emotional detachment at an event, shedding light on the reasons behind it.
The Grammy-winning artist made an appearance at the UK premiere of “Bob Marley: One Love” in London, where videos of him looking solemn went viral.
Fans expressed worry, noting his tired and lackluster appearance, and some speculated that he may still be grieving the loss of his mother. In response, Wizkid opened up about his current state of being adrift since his mother’s passing, acknowledging his feelings of being lost.
However, he held onto the belief that he would eventually rediscover his true self.
Drawing inspiration from the resilience of a soldier, he emphasized his need for personal space and hinted at a swift response to those who invade it.
Directing his message to his fans, he encouraged them not to dwell on his struggles but rather embrace the future when he would regain his essence.
WizKid wrote via Instagram story;
“Look in the mirror don’t feel myself. Mama left me and I lost myself.
“Can’t wait to feel myself again! Life of a soldier! Military with it!
“Until then I dey slap away for free so leave me
And I’m thankful y’all going through this phase with me. U seen me at my lowest now. When u see me back on my high no complain.”
