Popular singer Dammy Krane criticized Wizkid for disavowing Afrobeats and identifying as an RnB artist.
Wizkid had recently claimed that he creates music for multiple genres, not just Afrobeats, and being labeled as such would limit him.
In response, Dammy Krane insisted that Wizkid will always be recognized as an Afrobeats artist, regardless of his attempts to distance himself from the genre.
His words:
“Ex Nigerian singer Wizkid sang Essence and he now says he is not An Afrobeats artiste again that he is now an RNB artiste, Wizkid that is your father’s business whatever you do will always be A Sub Genre of Afrobeats.”
