Nigerian singer Ruger, also known as Michael Adebayo Olayinka, recently shared in an interview with content creator Timi Agbaje that he possesses two firearms.
However, it was not revealed if the weapons are licensed.
The interviewer asked, “What is the inspiration behind the name Ruger?”
Ruger replied, “It’s a gun, mehn.”
The interviewer asked, “It’s a gun? So you have a gun?”
He replied, “Yeah, I do. I have two.”
Last year, Inspector-General of Police Olukayode Egbetokun stated that there is currently a temporary ban on issuing firearms licenses, as the force is working to reduce the number of arms in circulation.
Egbetokun mentioned that there may be a review in the future, but for now, firearms licenses are not being issued nationwide.
