BREAKING: Fire guts NNPCL Apapa Tank Farm

Fire outbreak at popular 10-storey Mandilas building in Lagos Island

A fire broke out at the NNPCL Tank Farm located at Kayode Street, Marine Beach in Apapa, Lagos, owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited on Friday.

According to eyewitness Mr Tunde Are, the fire started around 11:00 am, causing panic among people who tried to control it before the arrival of a rescue team.

The rescue team, which included the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and LASEMA, was still working to extinguish the fire at the time of reporting.

The fire was said to have been caused by a spillage of petroleum products within the premises of the terminal.

Mrs Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the incident and stated that emergency responders in the oil and gas industry were collaborating to contain the situation.
