The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has cleared Nigerian athlete Tobi Amusan of anti-doping rule violations.
The verdict, published on Friday, rejected World Athletics and the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) appeals.
Amusan, the world record holder in the 100-meter hurdles, was initially charged with a violation for “whereabouts failures,” having missed three drug tests in 12 months.
As a result, the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) issued her a provisional suspension in July 2023.
However, the AIU’s disciplinary tribunal panel overturned this suspension just before the World Championships in Budapest last year.
Amusan, 2022 world champion, has consistently denied using performance-enhancing substances.
According to Reuters, CAS stated that its panel unanimously determined Amusan had committed two filing failures but did not confirm a third missed test, which would have constituted a “whereabouts failure.”
Sharing her relief on Instagram, Amusan posted “It’s ALL GOD” alongside the court’s announcement.
Amusan is considered a top contender for the upcoming Paris Olympics, beginning on July 26.
Recall she broke world record during the semi-final race at the 2022 World championships.
