COAS Lagbaja has not resigned – Army debunks rumour

Military will defend Nigeria’s democracy at all costs — Chief of Army Staff

The Nigerian Army has refuted claims stating that Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, has resigned.

Reports circulating online (not CREEBHILLS) alleged that Lagbaja had sent his resignation letter to President Bola Tinubu following an assassination attempt on his life.

The report suggested that the army chief’s resignation caused chaos within the military hierarchy.

However, Maj Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, dismissed the report as fake news in an interview.

“It is fake news; please disregard it,” he simply said.
