Kanye West has come to an agreement with Adidas executives after the conclusion of their Yeezy fashion partnership.
The German sportswear company’s leaders terminated the collaboration without delay after the Stronger rapper made a series of antisemitic statements on social media in October 2022.
However, after enduring years of legal disputes and private mediation concerning the decision, CEO Bjørn Gulden announced during a conference call on Tuesday that all issues had been settled and that neither side would be required to pay the other any additional funds.
A representative for Kanye West has not yet provided any comments regarding this development.
Originally introduced in 2015, the Yeezy Boost 750 became an enormous success, with fans waiting in line for hours to purchase a pair of the sneakers. The polarizing hip-hop artist subsequently launched his equally successful Yeezy fashion line.
However, following the cancellation of the Yeezy agreement, Adidas found itself with $1.3 billion worth of unsold merchandise.
Rather than opting to destroy the inventory, the company’s executives chose to sell the shoes and allocate a portion of the revenue to charities, including the Anti-Defamation League and The Philonise and Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change.
