Nigerian singer Ruger, also known as Michael Adebayo Olayinka, has revealed the secret to his success in getting booked for shows more often than some of his peers.
He attributes his popularity to not only performing his songs, but also showcasing his unique personality on stage.
Ruger believes that being a successful performer goes beyond having hit songs, emphasizing the importance of connecting with the audience and exuding confidence on stage.
He cautions that even artists with numerous hit songs can struggle if they lack stage presence.
On his X handle, Ruger wrote: “Let me explain to you why I get booked so much. I don’t come on stage to sing (of which I know l’m so good at) I bring my whole fucking personality on stage it’s not a joke
“It’s not by having hit songs you can have a million hit songs and still be clueless on stage at a 200-capacity venue.”
