The Ogun State Police Command has officially issued a wanted notice for Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, commonly referred to as “Portable,” in connection with his purported role in a violent assault against government officials engaged in the execution of their legitimate responsibilities.
A statement disseminated by the command’s spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, indicates that on February 5, 2025, at approximately 1000 hours, officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, specifically from the Ota Zonal Office, including TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi, were undertaking an enforcement operation at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, when they encountered an elderly male individual, subsequently recognized as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar within the vicinity.
Upon their introduction and the solicitation of the sanctioned building plan, the father informed them of his son’s unavailability.
Nevertheless, shortly thereafter, Portable, brandishing a firearm alongside other lethal instruments, orchestrated a violent ambush involving a cohort of nine assailants against the unarmed officials.
The enforcement personnel suffered various physical injuries but were able to evade the situation and subsequently reported the occurrence to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the matter to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further scrutiny.
While nine accomplices were apprehended, Portable absconded from the scene and has since evaded capture. Numerous formal summonses have been extended to him, requesting his presence at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, which he has systematically disregarded without justification or legal counsel.
In light of his continual avoidance, the Ogun State Police Command has procured a legitimate court order declaring him as wanted.
Odutola has emphasized that members of the public are earnestly encouraged to assist law enforcement by providing any pertinent information that could facilitate his swift apprehension. Any individual found to be aiding or sheltering the suspect will be subject to legal ramifications.
‘’For any relevant information, kindly report to the nearest police station or contact the Ogun State Police Command through its official communication channels or police public relations department.”
