Portable, Charles Okocha Set for Explosive Boxing Rematch as ‘Unfinished Business’ Heads to Lagos

Portable, Charles Okocha Set for Explosive Boxing Rematch as 'Unfinished Business' Heads to Lagos

The rivalry between Portable and Charles Okocha is far from over.

Nearly two years after their first celebrity boxing showdown, the controversial singer and Nollywood actor are set to face each other once again in a rematch that promises fireworks both inside and outside the ring.

The highly anticipated contest, tagged “Unfinished Business,” is scheduled to take place on July 31 at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, with organizers promising one of the biggest celebrity boxing events of the year.

Balmoral Promotions officially unveiled the event on Tuesday, confirming that the long-running rivalry between the two entertainers will headline the fight night.

Announcing the bout on Instagram, the organizers teased fans with a bold message.

“Africa, the stage is set. Now, we settle the score. Portable. Charles Okocha. Agbaje. Musa. Four fighters. One ring. No more talk.”

The event will also feature another boxing contest between Agbaje and Musa, adding to what promoters hope will be an action-packed evening.

The rematch comes at a critical moment in Portable’s celebrity boxing career.

The singer enters the fight looking to recover from the first defeat of his boxing journey after losing his championship belt to streamer Carter Efe at Chaos in the Ring 4.

All three judges scored the contest 30-27 in favour of Carter Efe, ending Portable’s previously unbeaten record inside the ring.

Before that loss, the “Zazoo Zeh” crooner had established himself as one of celebrity boxing’s biggest attractions, defeating Charles Okocha in 2023 before overpowering Speed Darlington in 2025 to claim two boxing titles.

The bad blood between Portable and Charles Okocha goes far beyond boxing.

Their dispute began in 2023, when Portable publicly accused the actor of failing to pay him approximately ₦40 million for a business deal.

The disagreement quickly escalated into a series of heated exchanges on social media, eventually culminating in their first celebrity boxing clash.

Although Portable emerged victorious in that encounter, the rivalry has continued to simmer, making the upcoming rematch one of the most anticipated celebrity fights in Nigeria.

Given the history between both men and their outspoken personalities, expectations are already high for another dramatic contest.

Whether Portable can bounce back from his recent defeat or Charles Okocha will finally get revenge for his previous loss remains to be seen.

One thing is certain—the talking will soon stop when both rivals step into the ring on July 31 to finally settle their “unfinished business finally.”
