Fast-rising singer Fido has warned fellow musicians about deceptive marketing companies, accusing them of manipulating artists into believing they owe their success to these firms.
Fido’s Warning to Artists
In a post on X, Fido stated:
👉🏽 “Marketing company go make you feel like na them Dey help your life, whereas na you Dey make money for them… The day you show to them you know what you’re doing, they turn your enemies, and they paint you bad out there. #shineyoureyes.”
Allegations of Exploitation
- Fido alleged that some marketing firms take advantage of artists, making them feel indebted while profiting from their work.
- He claimed that a marketing company was trying to control him, taking 70% of his show earnings while leaving him with just 30%.
- The singer also raised concerns about transparency, alleging that these firms block artists from accessing their music revenue backend details.
Marketing in the Music Industry
While acknowledging the importance of marketing, Fido cautioned musicians to remain vigilant and avoid being exploited by industry middlemen.
💬 What do you think about Fido’s claims? Are marketing firms taking advantage of artists?
