AY Makun, the popular comedian and filmmaker, has raised alarm over exorbitant service charges imposed by Nigerian commercial banks.
He questioned the logic behind Nigerian banks recording massive profits while the economy suffers.
AY Makun pointed out that some of these charges are unique to Nigeria and need to be contested.
On his X handle, AY wrote, “Where do banks get the trillions they declare as profits every quarter, even in a struggling economy? The small charges and debits on our accounts need to be challenged. Many of these fees are unique to Nigeria. Why is that? #BankingFees #Nigeria #Transparency #Shalom”
