Portable remanded in Ilorin prison over inability to meet bail conditions

Okikiola Badmus, also known as Portable, the controversial singer, has been placed in the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, due to his inability to meet strict bail requirements set by an Upper Area Court in the state.

The singer appeared in court on Monday to face defamation charges brought against him by veteran Fuji musician Akorede Saheed, popularly known as Saheed Osupa.

Portable was granted bail of N1 million and was given tough bail conditions, including the need for two sureties of equal value.

One of the sureties must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, while the other must own property in a Government Reserved Area in Ilorin, backed by a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
