Former Big Brother Naija contestant Uriel Oputa is being praised by Nigerians for her offer to adopt a baby girl who was found abandoned by a riverside in Kogi State.
In a video that went viral, the infant was discovered crying near the Niger Bridge in Ajaokuta by a local community leader.
The man was alerted by the baby’s cries and was shocked to find her alone, wrapped in baby clothes and a wrapper, with some personal items nearby.
Omera Ugbede Opaluwa, a resident who shared the video online, confirmed that the baby was rescued and is currently being taken care of by community members while awaiting further action from local authorities.
In response to the heartbreaking news, Uriel Oputa left a comment on a popular blog, expressing her desire to adopt the child and provide her with a loving home to ensure she never suffers.
“Pls let me have her. She will never go hungry,” Uriel wrote.
