In a shocking development, The Little Mermaid star Halle Bailey has been granted a domestic violence restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG, following explosive allegations of physical abuse.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Bailey claims that a violent altercation took place in January 2025 during a heated discussion about a visitation schedule for their infant son, Halo.
The actress alleges that while strapping their child into his car seat, DDG became aggressive and shouted, “Get out of my car, BTCH.”*
Bailey says the situation escalated into a physical struggle, during which DDG allegedly pulled her hair, slammed her face against the steering wheel, and chipped her tooth. She submitted photo evidence of bruises and the chipped tooth as part of her filing.
Despite being visibly shaken and in pain, Bailey said she remained in the car out of concern for her son’s safety while in DDG’s care. Upon reaching their destination, she reportedly informed members of DDG’s family about the incident.
Bailey also recalled a disturbing event from March, claiming DDG entered her home without permission, went into her bedroom, and texted her a photo of her empty bed with the message, “now I know what u been on lol.” She interpreted the text as an accusation of infidelity.
The couple reportedly split in October 2024, but Bailey says the harassment continued. In her court declaration, she cited additional alarming behaviors, including DDG allegedly smashing her Ring camera, snatching her phone, and hurling insults at her.
Most recently, Bailey says DDG accused her of vacationing with R&B singer Brent Faiyaz, when she was actually spending time with her sister, Chloe Bailey. In a text reply, Halle pleaded:
“Not with any man out here. I wouldn’t do that, I have Halo… please let me enjoy my mother’s day in peace. I hope you are okay and feel better soon.”
As a result of the mounting evidence, a judge granted Bailey a restraining order requiring DDG to stay at least 100 yards away from her. The court also approved her request to travel with Halo to Italy for two months to film a movie.
Additionally, the court mandated that DDG cease posting or streaming any content about Bailey or their son, after she accused him of using online platforms to disparage her.
