Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has strongly condemned the brutal mob killing of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division in Kano State, describing the incident as a heinous crime that must not go unpunished.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Sani expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of the officer, who was attacked and killed while performing his lawful duties.

“I briefly watched the video of the brutal murder of the DPO of Rano Police Station in Kano State by a mob. They tortured and butchered the police officer to death for performing his duty. He was said to have left behind a wife and four children. That despicable crime must not go unpunished. The perpetrators in that footage must all be brought to book. May his soul rest in peace,” Sani wrote.
