A bomb explosion in Abuja on Monday resulted in the death of one person and the injury of another. Sources suspect the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED).
An eyewitness, believed to be a military personnel, stated that the man killed in the explosion was a suspected suicide bomber, with the explosive device found in a rubber can close to Mogadishu Barrack in Abuja.
However, military authorities present at the scene suggested that the explosion may have been caused by a phone device and not an IED.
Military, DSS, police, and NEMA personnel are currently assessing the situation.
