Spanish Instagram influencer Fati Vázquez, 30, has spoken out about receiving death threats following rumours of an alleged relationship with 17-year-old Barcelona and Spain football sensation, Lamine Yamal.
The speculation began after both Vázquez and Yamal posted photos on Instagram showing what appeared to be the same holiday destination.
Spanish sports outlet Mundo Deportivo verified that their photos, shared three days apart, showed identical scenic elements, including a rocky coastline and an infinity pool with a distinctive tree and canopy.
Yamal’s post featured him relaxing on a boat and by the pool, while Vázquez’s images included similar settings but captured from different angles.
Since the images surfaced, Vázquez has faced a torrent of online abuse, including disturbing threats to her life.
“It’s sad to see people who have such darkness inside that they wish death on someone they don’t even know,” Vázquez wrote in an emotional Instagram story.
“What others project speaks more about them than me. I choose to live with the purpose of continuing to grow and surrounding myself with light. To those who wish me ill, I wish them healing, because nobody who is well in themselves wishes the destruction of another.”
Despite the uproar, neither Vázquez nor Yamal has confirmed or denied any personal relationship, and no official statements have been issued from the footballer’s camp.
This controversy arises amid Yamal’s growing fame, with the teenage prodigy having recently become one of Spain’s youngest players to feature at a major tournament, thereby increasing public scrutiny of his private life.
