Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has strongly denounced the recent United States airstrikes targeting the country’s nuclear facilities. His reaction followed President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. military had launched successful attacks on Iran’s nuclear plants.
In a statement released via his official X account on Sunday, Araghchi described the strikes as a serious provocation and declared that Iran would take all necessary measures to defend itself.
“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences,” Abbas Araghchi said in a post on X, adding that Iran “reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people.”
The development marks a dramatic escalation in tensions between the two nations.
According to reports, Tehran has been developing its nuclear program for decades, consistently maintaining that its ambitions are limited to peaceful energy generation.
The warning from Tehran raises the stakes in an already volatile region, as global observers urge restraint and seek ways to de-escalate the growing conflict.
