Popular Afrobeats singer Spyro has called on Nigerian political leaders to rise to their responsibilities and alleviate the growing economic hardship in the country.
Performing at the grand reception held to welcome Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, into the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uyo on Saturday, Spyro praised the governor’s achievements but urged other leaders to emulate his example.
“I heard about the good things you are doing in the state. And we are so proud. I’m hoping that other leaders here can follow in your footsteps because things no easy for the country. Make dem do better for us,” the singer appealed.
The event was attended by top government officials, including Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima (representing President Bola Tinubu), APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and 24 governors of the ruling party.
Spyro’s candid remarks resonated with the crowd amid rising public concerns over inflation, unemployment, and economic difficulties.
