Nollywood actress Nneoma Ukpabi has responded to veteran actress Rita Edochie’s comments about indecent dressing, following a video shared by Rita that criticized the trend, featuring Nneoma.
In a video posted to her own social media page, Nneoma directly addressed Rita, warning her to stop using her name or image for online moral commentary.
“How I dress is not your business,” Nneoma said firmly. “Let us respect each other’s space.”
She went further to state that she hasn’t spoken to Rita in over eight years, adding that she no longer considers her one of the women she looks up to in the industry.
Background
The clash stems from a recent social media post by Rita Edochie, in which the veteran actress lamented the rise in what she called “indecent dressing” among younger women. She used a video of Nneoma Ukpabi as part of her message, urging women to adopt more modest fashion choices.
The public call-out did not sit well with Nneoma, who has now made it clear she won’t tolerate being used as a cautionary example.
Industry Reactions
While neither actress has revealed more details, the online exchange has stirred debate among fans and fellow actors, with many weighing in on generational differences in values and personal freedom of expression within Nollywood.
As of now, Rita Edochie has not publicly responded to Nneoma’s warning.
