Veteran Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has publicly criticized her nephew-in-law Linc Edochie’s former fiancée, Yinka Theisen, accusing her of seeking attention and disrespecting the Edochie family name through her online behavior.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Rita Edochie expressed deep frustration over Yinka’s social media activities, describing them as “disruptive” and “lacking integrity.” She warned that the Edochie family will not tolerate such conduct, asserting that the family name is one of honor and dignity.
“Edochie’s family is not a dumping ground for retarded individuals. Person wey no get integrity dey constitute nuisance on the street of social media,” she wrote. “I join all right-thinking men, women, especially May Nation, to call on this mentally deranged patient in America to stop being a nuisance on the social media streets.”
Rita Edochie, known for her outspoken nature, continued by telling Yinka to “move on” and focus on her life instead of dragging the family into unnecessary drama. She accused Yinka of trying to tarnish the family’s reputation and suggested that her obsession stemmed from the failed engagement with Linc.
“You practically desired to bear the name Edochie, forgetting that the name is not for the insane but the sane,” Rita continued. “We don’t want a matrimonial menace in our honorable family.”
The actress also questioned Yinka’s motives toward her great-niece, Queen May Yul Edochie, urging her to respect herself and stay away from family matters.
“I am wondering why you just don’t want to realize that old age is a blessing and, as such, move into your space and respect yourself. I ask again, what exactly do you want from Queen?” Rita asked.
Her post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans and critics alike. While some supported Rita’s defense of the family, others criticized her choice of words, describing the outburst as unnecessarily harsh.
As of the time of this report, Yinka Theisen has not publicly responded to the accusations.
Yinka was previously engaged to Linc Edochie, nephew of Rita Edochie and brother of actor Yul Edochie. Their relationship reportedly ended on a bitter note, and their social media exchanges have since attracted public attention.
