Fast-rising Nigerian artist Ayo Maff has publicly expressed deep gratitude to fellow singer Chike for his overwhelming generosity and support during the creation of their joint track “Realness.”
Taking to social media, Ayo Maff revealed that Chike not only featured on the song free of charge, but also refused payment for studio sessions and even attended the listening party to lend his support.
In a heartfelt message, Ayo Maff shared:
“I didn’t pay him a dime for the verse, I never paid for a session, he showed up to my listening party and showed me love. As if that’s not enough, he gave me all the royalties on our song.”
He added that while Chike may have preferred to keep his generous act private, he felt compelled to share the story to show how much it meant to him.
“@Officialchike, I know you probably don’t want me to tell anyone, but I’m sorry, big man—the world has to know what you did for me. And you have to know how grateful I am. I’m so glad the song title is Realness.”
Chike has not yet publicly responded to the post, but fans are already applauding his selflessness, calling the gesture a rare show of support in the music industry.
