The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has officially announced the postponement of its planned implementation of new charges and penalties for document downloads on its upgraded Company Registration Portal (CRP).
Originally set to begin on August 1, 2025, the CAC now says enforcement will take effect from September 1, 2025.
According to a public notice issued by the Commission’s management on Monday, the revised policy will introduce penalties for users who attempt to download documents more than seven days after filing.
The CAC explained that the decision to shift the implementation date followed feedback from stakeholders and users, as well as technical challenges experienced during the ongoing transition to the upgraded portal.
Among the key issues highlighted were difficulties with document downloads, payment processing delays, challenges in filing post-incorporation documents for business names, and problems uploading certain mandatory documents.
In response, the Commission assured the public that it is collaborating with its technical partners to resolve the glitches and stabilize the portal without having to shut it down completely.
The CAC emphasized its commitment to ensuring a seamless registration and post-incorporation experience for users nationwide.
