“I’m Just Proud I Made It to Sunday” – DJ Cuppy Opens Up About Her Toughest Week Yet

DJ Cuppy Opens Up About Her Toughest Week Yet

Popular Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has revealed that the past week has been one of the most difficult periods of her life.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the billionaire heiress and daughter of Femi Otedola expressed heartfelt emotions as she reflected on the week’s challenges. Despite the hardship, she said she’s proud of herself for making it through.

“This week nearly finished me,” she wrote. “It’s been one of the hardest I’ve ever had, and honestly, I’m just proud I made it to Sunday.”

DJ Cuppy added that she’s learned the importance of authenticity during hard times, stating:

“I’ve learned that being real helps more than pretending. Grateful for a fresh start this Sunday.”

Learning from Life’s Lessons

This isn’t the first time Cuppy has gotten candid about life challenges. In a previous post, she shared her experience with a fake helper who offered assistance but only wanted to use her to get to her father. The encounter, she said, taught her a valuable life lesson — that “there’s no such thing as a free lunch.”

Despite her struggles, Cuppy continues to express gratitude for her privileged background. She once shared that growing up, she didn’t realize how blessed she was until adulthood gave her a different perspective.

“What felt normal to me was something someone else was praying for,” she reflected.

“No New Friends” Policy

Last year, the “Gelato” hitmaker announced that she was no longer seeking new friendships. In a social media post, she shared photos of her close-knit circle — which includes her mother, sisters, and British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua — affirming that she was content with her current support system.

“These are my people. Not looking for any more friends,” she declared.

As DJ Cuppy continues to navigate personal growth and public life, her openness has struck a chord with fans, showing that even those with fame and fortune face moments of struggle and reflection.
