Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has firmly declared his unwavering commitment to the Labour Party (LP), dispelling rumors of his involvement in any political coalition or plans to defect.
Otti made the clarification during an interactive session with members of the Abia State Global Economic Council held in Umuahia. Addressing recent speculation, the governor stated that he has not attended, nor has he been invited to, any coalition meetings being organized by political groups seeking to realign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I am not in any coalition and have not attended any meetings organised by the group or been invited for any,” he stated.
The governor emphasized that his full focus remains on fulfilling the mandate given to him by the people of Abia State.
“I am rather busy doing the work the Abia people gave me,” he said, adding, “I’m not looking for where to decamp to.”
Otti also addressed concerns about internal issues within the Labour Party, acknowledging that while there had been challenges, the party fought hard to overcome them.
He recalled the party’s legal battle and eventual victory at the Supreme Court, affirming that the LP remains intact and resolute in its mission.
Governor Otti’s remarks serve as a clear signal of his political stability and dedication to both his party and the development of Abia State. In a time of shifting alliances and growing coalition talks, his message was direct — he’s staying right where he is.
