Popular Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, better known as Kemity or Sidi, has addressed long-standing criticism surrounding her personal life — particularly, why she has two children from different fathers.

In an emotional conversation on Biola Bayo’s Talk to B Podcast, Kemity bared her soul, explaining that her life didn’t unfold according to her desires, but rather through a series of tragic and challenging events.

The actress recounted that her first pregnancy happened while she was still in secondary school, preparing for her SSCE exams. Despite the situation, her mother insisted she complete her education before considering marriage.

Kemity shared that the father of her first child later died under mysterious circumstances in a Nigerian hotel after returning from Malaysia.

“He didn’t inform me or anyone when he came back to Nigeria. I just received a call that he was found dead. When we got to the scene, we only saw $300 on him. We believe the rest of the money he returned with was stolen. That’s how I became a widow.”

Following the tragedy, the actress faced intense social media backlash and judgment from the public, many of whom had no understanding of her story.

She later met the father of her second child during a computer training program.

“We had a court wedding, and everything was going fine until I got pregnant. That’s when he started having extramarital affairs,” she revealed.
“Eventually, he told me his Alfa warned him that he would never be successful unless he left me. So I walked away.”

Kemity emphasized that none of these events were intentional or desired, saying:

“It was not my wish or plan to have children for different men or to leave my husband. But life happened.”

The actress’ candid interview has since sparked discussions about the harsh judgment single mothers face in society, and the importance of understanding before condemning.
