Grammy Award-winning artist Lil Nas X entered a not guilty plea on Monday, August 25, to four felony charges following an incident in Los Angeles. Police reported that the singer allegedly assaulted officers who approached him while he was wandering the streets in his underwear.
During the court session, a Los Angeles judge set his bail at $75,000 and ordered the “Old Town Road” star to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
Authorities stated that they believed Lil Nas X was under the influence of drugs at the time of the occurrence.
However, his attorney, Christy O’Connor, contested that claim, saying the singer was not using illegal substances and describing the incident as an unusual episode in his life.
The charges filed against him include three counts of battery of a police officer and one count of resisting an officer.
Lil Nas X has pleaded not guilty after being charged with four felonies.
His bail has been set at $75,000.
