Snoop Dogg is attempting to clear the air after sparking backlash with his recent comments about the LGBTQ community.
The Hip-Hop legend faced heavy criticism after expressing discomfort over a same-sex couple’s presence in Pixar’s Lightyear. The rapper recalled watching the film with his 6-year-old grandson, who asked why a character had “two moms,” leaving him momentarily speechless.
“They’re putting it everywhere,” Snoop vented at the time — a statement that ignited swift condemnation across social media.
In response to the uproar, the Drop It Like It’s Hot star took to the comments section of a post by Hollywood Unlock to walk back his remarks.
“I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons. All my gay friends [know] what’s up, they been calling me with love. My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6-yr-old. Teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect,” he wrote.
The clarification comes amid reports that NBC executives were monitoring the controversy closely, given Snoop Dogg’s current role as a coach on the network’s hit series The Voice.
