Charlamagne Tha God has addressed Dame Dash’s recent remarks about his sexuality, offering a lighthearted take on the controversy.
Speaking on the Brilliant Idiots podcast, the Breakfast Club co-host, who identifies as heterosexual, likened the supposed insult to the kind of jokes he calls “Thanksgiving turkeys” — running gags that the culture feeds on for weeks, sometimes sticking as permanent nicknames.
He drew comparisons to long-standing jabs at Dash himself, such as “Debt Dash” and “Debt Jam Records,” nicknames rooted in the music mogul’s financial struggles.
Charlamagne acknowledged that he has been the subject of similar ridicule, admitting that rumors about his sexuality have circulated for years.
“That’s been going on since forever,” he said, crediting rapper Webbie for sparking the running joke.
As for Dash’s comments, Charlamagne suggested they were fueled more by pride than actual malice, adding that the mogul appears too concerned about how the internet perceives him.
