The Qatari Ministry of Interior has rolled out new visa regulations for Nigerians, citing recent cases of overstays as the driving force behind the policy shift.
According to the new rules, travellers must now provide proof of a confirmed return transfer alongside hotel reservations before a tourist or transit visa can be issued.
Eligibility has also been tightened. Only females or families are allowed to apply, while male travellers will no longer qualify unless accompanied by their families.
In addition, only bookings with 5-star hotels will be accepted as part of the visa process.
The new requirements take immediate effect and apply not only to fresh applications but also to those already pending.
