Popular Nigerian singer Qdot was attacked and robbed at gunpoint in the early hours of Sunday, leaving fans and colleagues alarmed over the country’s rising insecurity.
The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m., saw a gang of masked, heavily armed men storm the artist’s residence.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers subjected Qdot and his household to a terrifying ordeal, carting away mobile phones, laptops, and other valuables critical to his music production.
The robbers also allegedly forced transfers from his bank accounts and seized control of his social media handles, sparking fears of possible impersonation and exploitation online.
Although no lives were lost, those present during the attack were said to be deeply traumatized. Associates confirmed Qdot is physically safe but emotionally shaken.
While the singer has yet to make a public statement, fans and fellow entertainers have flooded social media with messages of relief regarding his safety, alongside calls for stronger security measures.
Security agencies have launched an investigation, with early indications suggesting the attack may have been premeditated and aided by insider knowledge of Qdot’s movements and finances.
