More Opposition Governors Set to Join Tinubu in APC – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed that more governors from opposition parties are preparing to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to align with President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

Akpabio made this disclosure on Tuesday during his goodwill message at the launch of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma’s book, Ten Years Of Impactful Leadership of The APC Administration In Nigeria, and the commissioning of projects by President Tinubu in Owerri.

“Mr President, with what you have done in the last two years, get ready to receive more governors from the opposition parties. As I speak, there are several governors in Nigeria today that are ready to be received by you,” Akpabio stated.

The Senate President said Nigerians were beginning to feel the benefits of Tinubu’s reforms, stressing that students, farmers, and business owners were already testifying to the impact.

“If we say it, they will accuse us of rubber-stamping your achievements, but the beneficiaries themselves are the ones speaking,” he said.

He commended Uzodimma for documenting APC’s decade-long impact, noting that history must be written by those making it.

Akpabio also reflected on his own record as governor of Akwa Ibom State 18 years ago, declaring that his projects then showed he had always been a progressive in action, not just in words.
