Nigerian singer Ruger has reacted to viral comments about the absence of weed at his recent party, clarifying that he doesn’t smoke and therefore never includes it in any of his gatherings.
Taking to social media, the Asiwaju crooner explained:
“So I see some people saying there was no sign of weed at my party. Well, I don’t smoke and my closest friends don’t do it either. So if you’re coming to any gathering I put together, and you smoke, there will be no weed for you ooo.”
Ruger, however, made it clear that he doesn’t judge others who choose to indulge, adding that guests are free to bring their own.
A fan asked, “U don’t judge those who bring theirs though. Yeah?”
The singer replied, “I don’t gee.”
Another follower joked, “That is to say – Bring your own Zaza.”
Ruger responded with, “You get.”
His statement comes amid growing public scrutiny of music events and private parties in Nigeria, especially regarding drug use.
Recall that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently arrested nightlife personality Pretty Mike and others for allegedly hosting a “drug party.”
The NDLEA has since announced plans to intensify its crackdown on gatherings where drug use or abuse occurs.
