Adele Faces Backlash Over Pricey Vinyl Tour Box Set – Fans Furious Over the Cost

Global superstar Adele is officially stepping into the world of acting, marking a new chapter in her illustrious career. The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer will make her feature film debut in Tom Ford’s upcoming drama, Cry To Heaven.

The film, based on Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, follows a Venetian nobleman and a castrated opera singer whose lives intertwine in 18th-century Italy. Ford, who wrote, will direct and produce the film from his own adaptation, bringing together an impressive ensemble cast.

Joining Adele are acclaimed stars Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, George MacKay, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Paul Bettany, Thandiwe Newton, Hunter Schafer, and Owen Cooper, the breakout actor from Adolescence.

According to Deadline, Cry To Heaven is currently in pre-production in London and Rome, with filming scheduled to begin in January 2026. Ford is reportedly self-financing the project, which is slated for a fall 2026 release.

This will be Ford’s third directorial effort, following the critically acclaimed A Single Man (2009) and Nocturnal Animals (2016). The film also reunites him with previous collaborators—Firth and Hoult from A Single Man and Taylor-Johnson from Nocturnal Animals.

Adele hinted at her interest in pursuing new creative paths last year, revealing during an interview with Germany’s ZDFthat she planned to take “a big break” from music following her Las Vegas residency, which concluded in November 2024.

“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” she said at the time. “I want a big break after this, and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”

While this marks Adele’s first major acting role, it’s not her first time on screen—she made a cameo in the TV series Ugly Betty (2009) and performed the Oscar-winning theme song for the James Bond film Skyfall (2012).
