INEC Set to Declare Charles Soludo Winner of Anambra Governorship Election After Landslide Victory

Court declares Soludo candidate of APGA for Anambra polls

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is set to officially declare Governor Charles Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the Anambra State governorship election, following a sweeping victory across all Local Government Areas (LGAs).

According to the final results released by INEC, Soludo secured a total of 422,664 votes, far ahead of his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes.

Other results showed the Young Progressives Party (YPP) polling 33,652 votes, the Labour Party (LP) obtaining 10,482 votes, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scoring 8,317 votes, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) trailing with 1,774 votes.

The figures were announced by the State Collation Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, on Sunday at INEC’s headquarters in Awka.

Soludo’s emphatic win marks a historic landslide for APGA, as he clinched victory in all 21 LGAs of the state — a feat that further consolidates the party’s long-standing political dominance in Anambra.
