A$AP Rocky has been officially unveiled as the latest brand ambassador for French luxury fashion house Chanel.
The rapper was selected as an artist whose “talent, curiosity, and limitless creativity” align with Chanel’s vision, according to the announcement shared online.
Chanel’s artistic director, Matthieu Blazy, praised the multi-hyphenate star, saying:
“Rocky is an incredible artist who puts his heart and soul into every project he’s involved in, in addition to being an incredible human being. Musician, actor, father, friend… he brings so much to the table and always delivers with kindness. We are thrilled to welcome him to Chanel.”
To mark the partnership, Chanel released a short film directed by Michel Gondry of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mindfame, featuring A$AP Rocky alongside The Substance actress Margaret Qualley.
Reacting to his appointment, A$AP Rocky expressed admiration for Blazy’s creative vision:
“Matthieu’s imagination is pushing fashion forward. His designs feel both sensitive and strong… grounded in reality but always inviting wonder. I’m so excited to see him at Chanel.”
The announcement caps a high-profile year for the rapper. In February, he was acquitted in a Los Angeles trial where he faced allegations of firing a gun at former friend A$AP Relli in 2021.
In September, Rocky and his wife Rihanna welcomed their third child, Rocki Irish Mayers.
He also enjoyed a strong run in film, appearing in indie hit If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Spike Lee’s Highest 2 Lowest, where he starred alongside Denzel Washington.
