Two models who appeared in promotional shoots for Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer swimwear brand have filed a lawsuit against Roc Nation, alleging their images were used beyond the scope of their contracts.
According to reports, Janelle Delacruz and Tonoia Wade claim they were hired by Roc Nation for photoshoots in April 2025, ahead of the brand’s launch the following month. The models allege they were paid between $5,000 and $9,000 each, with contracts that allowed their images to be used solely for social media advertisements.
However, the plaintiffs claim their photos were later displayed on billboards across several major cities without their consent. The lawsuits allege that Roc Nation exceeded the limited license granted for the use of their likenesses and failed to notify or seek approval before expanding the usage.
“Roc Nation had a limited license to use plaintiff’s likeness from the April 30, 2025, photoshoot,” the filings state, adding that the company allegedly knew it did not have consent for the broader use.
Delacruz and Wade are suing for breach of contract, misappropriation of likeness, and false advertising, and are seeking unspecified damages.
Megan Thee Stallion is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit. The development nonetheless comes amid a period of legal activity surrounding the rapper. Recently, she was involved in a case against gossip blogger Milagro Gramz, who was found liable for defamation-related claims, though part of that ruling was later overturned. Gramz remains ordered to pay damages related to other counts.
The lawsuit against Roc Nation adds another legal layer to the business operations connected to Megan Thee Stallion’s expanding brand empire.
